3:20- 3.50pm: Feedback in the Geography classroom | Robyn Walton | St James School Robyn will explore the types of feedback that can propel learners to success. She will share successes she’s experienced of; whole class, live marking, verbal, front loaded, self/peer and class critique as some of the different approaches to feedback. A short manifesto for improved outcomes, self-regulated learners and reduced teacher work load from an experienced eography teacher.
? 3:50 – 4.20pm: Retrieval Practice Showcase | Leah Carrington | SWIFT Professional Community Lead Please bring along an example of an effective retrieval practice Geography activity that you have used with your classes. Either email them to Laura Maksymczuk in advance (
admin@wctsa.org) or we will enable sharing on TEAMS on the day. These will be collated after the event and shared with all delegates for future use.
4:20 – 5.00pm: Needs analysis & Plenary | Leah Carrington | SWIFT Professional Community Lead Leah has recently taken over leading the Geography Professional Community & would like to spend some time with delegates undertaking a needs analysis to find out which facilitators, topics & curriculum areas members would like to see in the Autumn event. Please being along ideas and any areas of Geography education that you would like further professional development in.
