For the first time this year, SWIFT is looking to build a professional learning community specifically targeting settings and professionals working in alternative education (alternative provision, nurture provision, forest school etc.) or professionals wanting to learn more about these settings, from across the South West comprised.
The aim of the group is to share best practice across the region, set up networks, facilitate cross-provision visits and access experts from our sector to share learning.
For the first meeting on 18th January we would love to hear from anyone who would be willing to share a particular piece of good practice that they feel others could benefit from.
At the first meeting, ACE Schools and The Edison Centre will be talking about projects that they have been working on and would love others to join them for this first session.
We hope that this professional community will go on to form a key role in bringing alternative provision and providers together to further develop outcomes for the young people you serve and the staff teams you work with.
We look forward to discussing topics such as – behaviour, mental health, preventing exclusion, child protection, SEN, nurture, Ofsted and the curriculum.
If you would like to contribute to the first meeting or have worked with external professionals who have something that you think other provisions and providers would benefit from, please get in touch on the email address below.
SWIFT hope to see as many of you there as possible and please share this meeting with other colleagues who you may feel would benefit from being part of this exciting community.
