This series of master classes will enable colleagues to:
· Know and understand the key concepts that underpin the study of History at any stage of learning through an enquiry approach, including EY Understanding of the World.
· Recognise how concepts serve as the connecting building blocks of subject disciplines and enable learners to understand and assimilate new knowledge within a ‘spiral’ curriculum.
· Understand how planning history around key concepts enables progression in subject language acquisition and specialist vocabulary and key terms.
Engage in practical and interactive professional reflective practice that applies learning in the classroom through gap tasks.
· Confident subject knowledge of history with a depth of understanding that enables connections in learning to be made.
Practical pedagogical approaches to apply in the classroom and continuous provision to develop history and understanding of the world.

Sheena Wright is an EYFS Education Consultant and local authority Early Years Lead Adviser with over twenty years of successful teaching experience across the full primary age range.
