Event description
The National Curriculum places emphasis upon the importance of the spoken word and regards ‘Fluency in the English language as an essential foundation for success in all subjects.’. Thanks to national lockdowns, facilitation of this has become more of a challenge than ever. This session will see the development of the SWIFT Oracy Community, which will support teachers to ensure that pupils build secure foundations by using discussion to probe and remedy their misconceptions.

Training objectives
The aim of this programme is to create a support network allowing practitioners to share ideas and practice. Ultimately, this session is to give a general understanding of what Oracy is and the difference it can make to learning across the curriculum
