Meeting Aims
To create a support network in which schools share ideas and effective practice and discuss issues surrounding PSHE. To focus on practical solutions to common challenges and gain expert advice and guidance from PSHE lead professionals. In each meeting we will:

• Find out about development and updates in the field of PSHE
• Share and learn from good practice
• Network with colleagues from other regional schools


2:00pm – 2:05pm: Introduction & Welcome

2:05pm – 2:55pm: Holly Green from Stonewall | LGBTQ+ inclusive RSHE: putting it into practice
Holly Green (they/she) is Education Programmes Manager at Stonewall. Together with their team, they manage the School & College Champions programme, a membership network of schools and colleges leading good practice in supporting pupils who are lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, questioning or ace (LGBTQ+). Holly and her team provide training and education resources for schools, colleges and those working with children and young people.

2:55pm – 3:00pm: ‘Wellbeing’ Break
Colleagues to take a 5-minute break from the meeting.

3:00pm – 3:20pm: Practitioner Input | Group Discussion
Colleagues will be placed into mixed phase break out groups led by Lisa, Beverley and Amy to discuss the takeaways and strategies from Stonewall’s session.

3:20pm – 3:25pm: Group Feedback
Colleagues to feedback key points from the group discussions.

3:25pm – 3:45pm: Practitioner Input | Group Discussion
Colleagues will be placed into Secondary/Primary phase break out groups led by Lisa, Beverley and Amy to discuss the takeaways and strategies from Stonewall’s session.

3:45pm – 4:00pm: Feedback & Plenary
Community Leads to summarise key points raised from break out sessions. Lisa to summarise discussions to inform the agenda items for the next meeting.

Professional Community Leads
Lisa Whitworth, Professional Community Lead and PSHE lead at Sidmouth College brings over 20 years of experience in education, nine of which have been teaching and leading PSHE and Health and Social Care at GCSE, A Level and BTEC. Lisa also has experience in research and evaluation, middle and senior leadership. Lisa works closely with local stakeholders, including parents, police, youth and health services.

Beverley Cawthera has recently become a Specialist Leader of Education for SEMH; a role she has held the lead for at St Peter’s Primary School in Budleigh Salterton since her NASENCo qualification in 2016. She has supported colleagues in schools in her locality to help create school environments that promote, enable and nourish positive relationships.

Cost: FREE for SWIFT member schools | £50 per person for non-member schools
The session will take place online, via Zoom.
